The AI course wizard turns a single idea into a full, interactive course. You answer a short series of friendly questions, and Vixi writes the lessons for you while you work. This page walks through every screen in order, what each one asks, and what happens when you reach the end. You start the wizard from the Create course area of the educator app at https://create.vixiai.co.
The course creation wizard is built for desktop. If you sign in on a phone, Vixi guides you to continue on a computer, where you have room to write and review your course comfortably.

How the wizard works

The wizard moves one question at a time. Most screens have a Continue button in the bottom-right corner. Pick an answer or fill in the field, then click Continue to move forward. A back arrow lets you return to the previous screen if you want to change something. Here is the part that makes Vixi feel fast: once you’ve answered enough of the early questions, Vixi quietly starts generating your course in the background while you keep filling in the later steps. By the time you reach the final button, your course is usually already written, so it appears almost instantly.
AI course generations are limited by plan: Free gets 1 generation total (lifetime), Pro gets 5 per month, and Premium gets 10 per month. See plan limits for the full comparison.

Step by step

1

Your topic

The first screen asks What’s your course about? Type your topic into the box, for example “digital marketing for small businesses.”This is also where you can add knowledge sources so Vixi builds your course from your own material. Below the topic box you’ll see options to add LinkedIn posts, X posts, or PDF files. Adding sources is optional, leaving them empty is completely fine, and Vixi will generate the course from your topic alone.Press Enter or click the arrow button to continue.
Knowledge sources make your course sound more like you. See Add knowledge sources for how each source type works.
2

Learner level

Next, Vixi asks What level is this course for? Choose the audience that fits:
  • Complete beginners
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Mixed levels
Pick one, then click Continue.
3

Learning experience

This screen asks What kind of learning experience are you creating? Your choice shapes how the lessons are framed:
  • Master a skill
  • Understand a topic
  • Build a habit or mindset
  • Earn a certificate
Choose one and continue.
4

Tone

Vixi asks What tone should your course have? This sets the voice your lessons are written in:
  • Fun & playful
  • Professional
  • Motivational
  • Educational & academic
Pick the tone that matches your style.
5

A few smart questions

Now Vixi asks a short set of questions tailored to your specific topic. There are up to four of these smart (clarifying) questions, and they’re generated for you based on what you typed and any sources you added. Some are multiple choice, some let you pick several answers, and some give you a text box to type your own answer. Answer each one and click Continue.
If you added a PDF or other sources earlier, these questions are grounded in that material, so they feel relevant to your subject rather than generic.
6

Course name

You’re asked What do you want to name your course? Type the title you’d like learners to see, then continue. You can always rename it later from the course editor.
7

Course description

Next, Give your learners a brief description of what this course covers. Write a short summary of what the course is about. This is the description learners read before they enroll.
8

Learning map

This screen asks you to Pick a learning map for your course. The learning map is the visual theme learners travel through as they progress, lesson by lesson. Choose the look you like best and continue.Learn more on Learning map and rewards.
9

Reward currency

Vixi asks What reward currency should be earned in your course? Learners collect this reward as they complete lessons, which keeps them motivated to finish. Pick the currency that fits your course’s theme, then continue.See Learning map and rewards for how rewards work for learners.
10

Author details

Now you add an author for the course. Enter the author name (required) and an optional short bio. This is the name and description shown to learners as the course’s creator.
Some accounts also see steps for confirming you’re the author and verifying your identity. These are not part of the standard flow today. If you’d like a verified author badge, see Author verification.
11

Avatar choice

Vixi asks Do you want to create your personal avatar to teach your course? You can choose:
  • Yes, create my avatar — design a custom AI avatar that becomes your course’s instructor.
  • No, use a default instructor avatar — pick a ready-made avatar from Vixi’s library.
The avatar is the character who presents your lessons, and it sets the voice your lessons are narrated in.Creating a custom avatar is a paid feature. On the Free plan you can’t create custom avatars, so you choose from Vixi’s six bundled default avatars instead; Pro and Premium unlock custom AI avatars (and premium avatar styles). On smaller screens, the choice screen is skipped and you go straight to the default avatar picker. For the full breakdown, see plan limits. For everything about avatars and voices, see Avatars and voice.
12

Pick or create your avatar, then generate

The last step depends on your choice:
  • If you chose a default avatar, you pick your instructor from the library, then click Generate my course to build it.
  • If you chose to create your own, you go through the short avatar creation flow, which finishes with its own button that kicks off your course.
Either way, this is the moment your course is built.

Generating your course

Once you finish the last step, Vixi gets to work. Because it started writing in the background earlier in the wizard, the heavy lifting is often already done, so this is usually short. While Vixi saves the final result you’ll see a brief screen that reads Almost ready…
If you close the tab or navigate away while a course is generating, you don’t lose it. Vixi keeps the job running, and your in-progress course is waiting for you when you come back.

Your course is saved as a draft

When generation finishes, your new course is saved automatically as a draft. A draft is private and unlisted, which means no one can see it yet. This gives you space to review every lesson, make edits, and polish it before anyone enrolls. Vixi shows you a little celebration screen letting you know the course is ready, with a Go to course button. Click it to open the course’s detail page, where you can read through the lessons and start editing. When the course is exactly how you want it, you publish and share it.

Add knowledge sources

Ground your course in your own LinkedIn posts, X posts, or PDFs.

Avatars and voice

Choose a default instructor or design your own AI avatar.

Learning map and rewards

Pick the visual theme and reward currency learners experience.

Publish and share

Take your course from draft to live and share it with learners.

Frequently asked questions

No. Sources are optional. If you leave them empty, Vixi generates your course from your topic and your answers alone. Adding sources simply helps the course reflect your own material.
