Two steps in the course creation wizard shape how your course looks and feels to learners: the learning map and the reward currency. Both are quick visual picks, and the learning map is the only one of the two you can also change later from the course page. This page explains what each step does and how to set them.

The learning map

A learning map is the themed screen your learners see when they open your course. Lessons appear as tiles along a path, and the path takes on the look of the theme you choose, from a sprouting garden to a coding circuit board. You pick a map on the wizard step titled Pick a learning map for your course.

Browse and choose a theme

The themes are shown in a carousel, with one map centered and in focus at a time.
1

Move through the themes

Use the left and right arrow buttons to bring each theme to the center. You can also click a side card to slide it into focus. The centered theme is the one that gets selected.
2

Preview the full map

Click the centered map card, or the outlined Preview button below the carousel, to open the full-size learning map in a new browser tab. This shows the real map against a sample course so you can see exactly what learners will experience.
3

Confirm your pick

A selected theme shows an orange check badge in its corner. When you are happy with it, continue to the next step.
A theme is selected for you by default when you reach this step, so you can move on without clicking anything. Just make sure the centered, checked theme is the one you want.

Available learning maps

You can choose from these themes:
ThemeWhat it looks like
Garden GrowthPlants sprout as learners progress.
Castle QuestHex tiles and a sandcastle journey.
NotebookSticky notes and curvy doodled paths.
Atlas VoyageA vintage parchment map with a sea-route voyage through every continent.
Code CircuitA coding-themed map with code cards wired along circuit traces.
Biology LabA clean science lab with a DNA double-helix path and lesson cards.
Ancient HistoryA parchment map with classical landmarks along a terracotta timeline.
English LiteratureA cozy wood wall with lesson books standing on little shelves.
Love LettersA romantic stationery card with lesson love-letter envelopes.
Pick a theme that matches your subject. A coding course feels at home on Code Circuit, while a wellness or habit course suits Garden Growth. When in doubt, use the Preview button to compare a couple of options side by side in separate tabs.

Change the learning map later

You are not locked into your first choice. You can switch the theme any time from the course page.
1

Open the course

Go to My Courses and open the course you want to update.
2

Open the theme picker

Find the Change course theme card and click it. The card opens a window titled Choose a course theme with the same carousel you used in the wizard.
3

Pick and save

Choose your new theme, then click Save theme. Learners see the new map the next time they open the course.

The reward currency

As learners complete lessons, your course rewards them with a themed currency. The reward currency step lets you choose what that currency is called and which icon represents it. You set this on the wizard step titled What reward currency should be earned in your course? This is a purely visual choice. It changes the name and icon learners see for the points they earn, not how much they earn or how it is spent.

Choose a currency

The currencies are shown as a grid of cards, each with an icon and a name. Click a card to select it. A selected card is highlighted, and you continue to the next step once one is chosen. You can choose from:
  • Diamond
  • Energy Spark
  • Blueberry
  • Vitamin Pill
  • Pearls
  • Car Tyres
  • Dates
  • Coins
Match the currency to your course’s personality. Diamond or Coins feel professional, Blueberry or Vitamin Pill feel playful, and Dates or Car Tyres can give a course a distinctive local or niche flavor.
The reward currency is chosen during course creation. Unlike the learning map, there is no card on the course page to change the currency afterward, so pick the one you want before you finish the wizard.
